Michelle Prazak
Bio
Michelle Prazak (b. 1977) lives and works in Lima, Peru.
She holds an MA in Fine Arts from the Byam Shaw School
of Art - Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design
(London) where she was recipient to a Bloomberg
Scholarship. She has also attended Escuela de Artes
Plasticas Corriente Alterna in Lima, and Instituto Lorenzo di
Medici in Florence, Italy for studio art, art history and
theory. After completing her studies in pedagogy at the
University of London, she has been a painting and
drawing lecturer at sveral european institutions including
University of the Arts in Florence and the Shadwell Centre
in London. Her work is represented by several major
private and public collection.
Statement
Michelle Prazak's work engages the viewer´s perceptual
experience through geometric form, challenging their
conception of space. Confronting the impression of
immaterial dimension and movement, her work provokes
the gaze and promotes alternative modes of seeing. In
experiencing her work, it is inevitable for a contemplation
and subtle interpretation of space and time to take place.
