María Paz Secundini
Bio
María Paz Secundini holds a degree in Fine Arts (UNR) and specialised in Irish Studies (USAL). Her work was selected for the 60th Provincial Salon of Entre Ríos and the 5th OSDE Foundation Award (2023). She participated in Otra Feria's episode "Young American Artists" (2020) and ArteCo (2021/2022), where she was part of the panel discussion "The Artwork and Craftsmanship, Tradition and Contemporaneity." She has attended the residencies Campamento Cerámico (2019), SirveVerse (2022), Mudar (2022), and Río (2024, Regional Artist Scholarship). She leads the project "Revealing with Plants" (granted funding in 2022 by the Santa Fe Province Promotion Plan and the FNA), teaches ceramics in her studio, and serves as an assistant in the Painting III course (FHyA-UNR).
Statement
Trabajo con elementos orgánicos y soy de invierno. En mis obras los materiales que dan la forma son también la nieve, la montaña rocosa, el bosque y la cascada, es eso lo que busco atrapar. En estos lugares tan poco habitados, como en mí, prevalece la naturaleza.
Con la elección de materiales vivos y sus procesos cuestiono las prácticas de consumo actuales. Así doy lugar a obras sujetas a un ciclo natural similar al nuestro que
intentan hacernos reflexionar sobre las problemáticas ambientales y la forma de relacionarnos con otras especies.
